Thinking about joining our team? See info below that relates to your training stage.

  • We are always on the lookout for curious, excited and dedicated undergraduate students to join our team.

Volunteers: Most undergraduates start in the lab as volunteers that help maintain our beetle colonies. If you are new to research and want to dip your toes in a lab to gain some experience, please contact Jackie to discuss volunteer opportunities in the lab. Volunteers often hang around long enough to pursue more independent research in the lab.

528/530 Students: Undergraduate students who want to take any independent research course under my supervision should contact Jackie to discuss opportunities well in advance of term deadlines. Student should also consider getting some exposure to the lab ahead of time as a volunteer, half term research student (507), or summer research student (PURE/USRA).

  • If you have a strong academic background and interests in organismal physiology and/or molecular biology then the Lebenzon Lab could be the place for you! We are a growing community of excited scientists who are ready to tackle cutting edge questions in the field of environmental physiology. As a graduate student in a growing lab, you will have exciting opportunities to lead projects, mentor undergrads, and build our research programme from the bottom up! If you are interested in joining as a grad student, reach out to Jackie to start discussions. Make sure to send an up-to-date CV, brief introduction and why you’re interested in the lab, and some unofficial university transcripts.

We are currently recruiting a PhD student to study flight muscle remodelling (see job ad here!).

  • We’re always excited to hear from prospective postdocs who have a strong publication record and a genuine enthusiasm for our line of research. While we do not currently have funding to support postdocs, we would be happy to host researchers with their own funding or collaborate on fellowship applications.
