Gabi Gee
MSc Student
Hello! My name is Gabi, and I am a master’s student studying the overwintering physiology and emergence of the striped and crucifer flea beetles. I completed my bachelor's in Biological Science here at the University of Calgary. Along with studying insects in the field and at the bench, I have also worked as a research coach creating online lab materials and as a Laboratory Technician studying sand flies as vectors of Leishmania parasites. From ants and dragonflies to bees and flies, I have been curious about and studying insects for over half a decade. My fascination with the moving puzzle pieces that make up morphology and physiology has found a home in entomology, where elegant and odd systems abound. When I’m not thinking about bugs, I’m painting, exercising, reading, or playing fetch with my cat!
